History
Being born to a family of Death Eaters who were known for the dabbling in dark magic, Cheslyne didn't have much for a future besides following in her families foot steps. It wasn't until she was around four years old that they knew she wouldn't be exactly like them. There would be times when the young girl would go out of her way to just please her parents which as much as they enjoyed, they couldn't help but feel slightly worried. It was for that reason they began teaching her about blood supremacy and dark magic that she wouldn't be aloud to mention outside of the house. She spent about two years doing that until one day she stumbled upon some artifacts up in the attic which traumatized the young girl greatly. She doesn't remember much about that day but she does remember the many curses that came days after that, her dads favorite being the Cruciatus Curse.
It wasn't until her first year at Hogwarts that she found out why what she did as a child angered her father. The young girl had stumbled upon artifacts which were made to go to the next heir in line, which in Cheslyne's case wasn't her. Her parents never out right told her she had an older sister, or even hinted at a twin brother, she just figured about her eldest sister on her own but never really mentioned it to them in fear of their anger. It wasn't until her third year that she began rebelling out of her parents training. She stopped acting all stuck up and began to tear some of her walls down which allowed her to grasp the thought that what her parents did and believed in were wrong. It was also at that time that she learned the spells her parents practiced were banned. It was during her Christmas break that year where she started rebelling against her parents. Her parents brushed it off to be a teenager thing..until she caused a scene at a big Death Eater gathering that angered not just her her father but his friends too.
As soon as the brunette turned fifteen, she left her family's manor, taking anything and everything that belonged to her. She moved into one of the rooms in the Leaky Cauldron, helping wait tables instead of paying an actual fee. It was a start of her independence and also where she was recruited to be part of the Guardians, something that she firmly believes in still.
Acceptance Letter Response
The graphite pencil moved effortlessly over the smooth paper as the pencil moved with such grace and determination. It knew exactly where it was going to head, knew what exactly to draw and where to draw it. It knew its exact location as a single hand guided it carefully. The fingers were curled around the wood, soft yet strong. A firm grip but not too firm as to cause finger cramps and destroy the picture at its climax. For one mistake would shatter all that had been drawn and make the drawing worthless.
And the guider of the pencil couldn’t have that. She had sat too long in the sun as it beat down upon her back to give up now. A strand of brown hair fell into her eyes as she blew it away absentmindedly with a huff. She was not going to give a single strand of hair attention that would take away from her drawing. Her eyes flickered up as they came upon the inspiration to her latest masterpiece. She gazed at it for a moment before looking back to the drawing as she lightly shaded in the shadow that the Larch tree cast across the green filled hill near the manor.
The hand moved in a jagged pattern as the cones of the Larch were drawn in; as she pressed down to bring out the pattern of the paper. She licked her lips, as she always did, when her drawing was nearing its end. Just a few more touches and it would be complete. Finished. Never to be worked on or even looked at again. The guider of the hand sighed sadly at the thought as she continued to draw. It was strange, how one would throw themselves into their work. Pouring their heart and soul into it for long periods of time only to have it come to a screeching and halting end.
What did one do after that? After everything they’ve worked so hard for just suddenly ended. How would they go living? Would they just find new inspiration? Simply forget about their project? Act as if it had never existed? She did not know. And that thought was scary. So she kept drawing, she kept drawing to keep away the fear of the end. It was like reading a beloved story. You did not want it to end, but yet it must. She looked down at the picture and then back at the Larch with a critical eye. She stared at the tree for a moment before lowering her pencil in triumphant. It was at that moment the young girl noticed the unfamiliar roll of parchment that had appeared at her side. Caustiously opening it, the girls eyes gleamed in happiness as she jumped up, running to her mother in the kitchen to tell her the good news. She was accepted into Hogwarts.
