History
Clayton was born to Jeremy and Isobel Thorn. He is an only child and was considered spoilt as all only children were. He lived in a modernized house that was located in England. Growing up, he met a girl when he was 5, named Korina Winters. They soon became great friends and hung around together. One of his fondest memories was them hanging in his tree house, brewing up mud concoctions and trying to feed it to his dog. Their parents were used to going to each other’s houses and hanging there, sometimes Korina would stay for dinner. They understood each other and the silences were comfortable between them. Clayton normally kept to himself though and went about his business since he knew he had to be somewhat independent.
During the time he was growing up, he wasn’t aware of the sides that could be taken in the wizarding world. Since he was unaware of this, he had no idea of his mother being a part of the Order of the Phoenix and his father being a part of the Death Eaters. Both his parents did not confess this to one another in fear of being judged. They both had their suspicions of each other but did not say a word of it to each other. Soon enough, when Clayton was 11, he received an owl to attend Durmstrang. At first he was confused since he wasn’t in the area of the school but his father explained how generations of the male Thorn family went there. He asked where the females went and his father answered with the women going to Beauxbatons. Clayton knew that there was another wizarding school, Hogwarts, but did not think much of it.
So the Thorn family moved from England to Norway where it would be easier to attend Durmstrang. He completed his first year and second year, gathering knowledge of the wizarding world and what goes on around him. He learnt about the Death Eaters and the Order but neither took his fancy and was happy to just stay neutral as that was what it was safe to do. When he returned home for Christmas, he walked in the door to find it trashed with curtains torn off, furniture against the wall and papers flown everywhere. Clayton had no idea what was going on but he didn’t like it. The worst part out of all of it was the silence. He heard a few murmurs come from the living room and he walked in to see his mother drinking red wine, perched in an arm chair. His father was standing against the wall with his wand in hand, though something didn’t look quite right. An uneasy feeling pitted in the bottom of his stomach and was soon enough answered. His mother found out that Jeremy was a part of the Death Eaters and went rampage. Clayton’s father tried attacking Isobel in effort to scare her away and raise Clayton for his own.
After wand dueling and arguments, they settled upon the agreement of a divorce and they live away from each other. Only Clayton was to know where they lived, since they decided they wanted Clayton in their life. They needed to sway Clayton to one side. Being 12 years old, it was extremely tough on Clayton, having to travel over breaks to his parents’ houses. He still continued going to Durmstrang but didn’t like the idea of being brought up in a place where generations of the Thorn family were brought up there. He didn’t want to go to Beauxbatons since he didn’t want to be a part of the Order. So reaching his sixth year, midway he dropped out of Durmstrang and headed in the direction of Hogwarts. Moving to Hogwarts wasn’t just because of his parents. He was in Diagon Alley retrieving one of his packages and when he walked out of the shop, he heard a group of wizards and witches discussing a girl called Korina. His heart sped up and interrupted them, asking who this Korina was. It was Korina Winters. He knew from here that Hogwarts was the right choice and finally, something could go right in his life again.
Acceptance Letter Response
Clayton sat in his mother’s house, located back in England. He wondered how he would get into Hogwarts, like if he had to owl the Headmistress. His mind was constantly wondering and found was to distract himself, like studying Mythology. He had taken a liking to it and had books upon books of it. He was sitting down and reading one by the fireplace one evening when an owl sat on a street pole outside. It was staring at Clayton with yellow eyes.
He put the book down and opening the window, the owl taking off toward him. He wasn’t scared and knew that it was perfectly normal for an owl to be coming towards him. The owl flew inside and dropped a letter in his hand. When he looked up, the owl was gone. Taking a glance at the front, then the back, he knew what it was. Opening the letter, he read the details before going upstairs to pack. He was starting soon and needed to be ready to continue his wizarding education. He placed the photo of him and Korina in his suitcase before lugging his luggage downstairs.
Writing a quick note to his mother, an explantion, he grabbed his belongings and walked out the front door. Wandering the streets, it wasn’t long before the Knight bus came and picked him up. It was a crazy ride but found himself in the streets of London. “Well Clayton, maybe something is right now.”
