Personality

Ezra's one of the good guys. This he tells himself on a daily basis. He's got a heart of gold and puts his everything into what he does. On the social scale he's very lacking though, having pulled back from people after he was turned. He struggles with the notion of befriending what his body now determines as food, and so sometimes he can come across as brash and rude, without really intending too. He's got fairly good control, all things considered, but when he's not fed for a while, steer clear, cranky just isn't the word for it!

History

Turned at the age of twenty-seven by an escaped vampire, Ezra's humanity was ripped cruelly away. He struggled for a few years, running off to learn how to control his hunger, though he soon realised the quest was impossible. He tried for some time, to pluck up the courage to kill himself, but he couldn't drum up the confidence, and after a few months slinked home to explain to his family the truth of what had happened. His parents disowned him on the spot, disgusted with him, emphatic in their explanation that their son was dead. Ezra was destroyed, they had always been distant, but he had never imagined that they would turn their back on him.

It was a relief and a blessing to find acceptance in his brother. At first it was wonderful, Elijah was just so relieved his brother was alive, but then the years began to spread between them, Elijah ageing, finding love... but mainly ageing, and Ezra had to sit by and watch his brother, who up until their twenty-seventh year, had worn the same face as his, grey as he should have.
Ezra swallowed the hurt, focussing instead on a new venture, opening a Menagerie, and filled his life instead, with animals, and his twin nieces; keeping away from other humans as much as possible.
