Kosovstaia] (deceased) Father- William Burke II Mother- Sasha Burke [née. Barbosa] PETS: Orion [Black Leopard] WAND: --- History Natasha's grandfather and his family fled to Russia to escape from Britain from potentially being involved in the second wizarding war. Although a pure-blood wizard, William Burke I grudgingly lived his life as a muggle antique shop owner. Over time, he unexpectedly fell in love with a rich but humble muggle woman named Natasha Kosovskaia. Eventually they eloped and grew prosperous in a non-magical environment moving into a mansion where they started a new life together. Soon after, his wife gave birth to William II. He was admitted into the Durmstrang Institute growing up under strict disclipline. He married a fellow student, a half Slavic and Brazilian girl name Sasha Barbosa and moved into the countryside together.
William II and Sasha Burke gave birth on November 21 to a baby girl named Natasha Thea Burke in their cozy countryside home. As a toddler, she displayed many bouts of accidental magic such as transporting herself in and out of her own crib that her parents had to magically ward from the inside and out that it left them exhausted and kept them on their toes each day. As she reached past her terrible twos, it became worse that it left them to withheld her magic core for a while until she learned how to control her mischief. Because of her parents going back to work, her parents hesitantly left her with her grandparents who were distant and ordered the house elves to take care of her instead as they were bonded to the family for generations. Her mother thought it was cruel but her father revealed that was how he was brought up until he was a bit older, competent enough to learn from them, and obedient though her grandmother coddled and spoiled her but didn't really know how to tend to her own granddaughter.
Like her father as a child, she was raised learning about the wizarding culture and mannerisms that come with that. She learned the Russian and English language on a daily basis as both were equally spoken in the household and everywhere else as they still resided in Russia. As still descended from a pure blooded magical family, blood status was emphasized from her grandfather in lessons and that only made her lose confidence in herself. Fortunately, her mother consoled her many times and taught her Capoeira. It was something that she could be proud of learning and helped release her stress in such a strict environment. She was eventually enrolled in a pre-secondary school where she learned a variety of charms and emphasis on the history of the dark arts where it was intelligently sugar-coated and put in a positive light. Even though she was still young, she knew that the dark arts wasn't widely accepted but accepted in it was the intent of the caster.
Eventually, she was admitted to the Durmstrang Institute like her parents where also educated and was precocious and curious as her half Kneazle cat was. She was apparently dedicated to learning though slow at first due to her hesitation and shyness but throughout the first year, she improved as she overcame her shyness making few but close friends at the school. Over time, it was apparent that she excelled the most in transfiguration and unexpectedly in the dark arts most likely because of her acceptance of that type of magic than anything else as she had a friendly disposition overall. Being in the Durmstrang Institute was a place where she had to learn about survival and obedience as she felt the school was just another strict environment she had to adapt to for years. She was forced to learn to not be too trusting as many she encountered were manipulative and/or either would try their luck testing out dark magic on other students. She had attempted to hold back what talents she had or show them but both didn't seem to matter. All that mattered to some students that who was powerful and she sought to prove it by defending herself in an opportunity that presented itself.
For some reason, shady seeming wizards would meet with her father and grandfather during her stay in the summers that she had a feeling her family was getting into something illegal. Her mother even took her back to her homeland in Brazil possibly to escape from whatever her paternal side of her family was doing. She learned the Portuguese language, continued her capoeira training, and other ways to defend herself. She wasn't sure why it seemed important for her to learn how to defend herself but she dedicated herself to it anyway. When her father got a hold of her, she was obligated feeling it was her duty to learn much about dark artifacts and the shrewd money business. It was said that her ancestor had owned a dark artifacts store but that was back in England and had been a long time since her family had visited there.
Graduating from the Durmstrang Institute, she turned out to become a less trusting but tougher individual graduate. But she was finally free from the shackles of the strict environment she had to adapt to. She pursued and completed a mastery of transfiguration and became an Unspeakable researcher of dark magic though not too far as she deemed it too dangerous to pursue further into the subject. She traveled to Africa where she encountered a sanctuary of Runespoor and then to America where she took adult classes on accounting to broaden her knowledge besides magic. Unexpectedly, she received an owl that her grandfather had passed away and called her to go his funeral in England where his ancestors were also buried. She went to the funeral and surprisingly to her, she was invited to the reading of the will. She was shocked to find out that she had inherited the Burke vault since she had an account of her own in Russia. But the most surprising part of the reading was she would hold ownership of the Borgin and Burkes shop that she didn't know that his ancestor owned. Still, it stated that only if no Borgins or elders were able to own the shop. She was told that she was only one able to hold ownership as she had no other obligations and admitted she didn't have any at the moment. Her father already held ownership to his own shop so it was left to her decision what to do. Having strong loyalty to her family like she was taught, she moved to an apartment close by even though she had enough money and reluctantly took reigns of the new Borgin and Burkes shop with some renovations included.
