| Jax couldn't remember ever being so careless in her entire life, though in her defense, how could she have guessed that the spell she was trying invent would rebound and destroy her wand? Then again, she supposed she shouldn't have been trying to invent spells while intoxicated anyway. Shaking her head at her rare moment of insane stupidity, Jacquelyn walked down the cobbled street to Ollivander's for a new wand. She vividly remembered purchasing her first wand there when she was a child and knew there was no better wandmaker in Great Britain, despite what they may boast.
Entering the shop, the little ting of the bells rang through the shop, alerting the shop owner that there was a customer. Approaching the desk, Jax noticed the forms and took one, reaching into her bag for a Self-Inking Quill. She quickly filled out the paper work with her neat strokes and smiled softly as a woman approached her. "Hello," she greeted.

| Rowena was perched on the top shelf as she moved some of the wand boxes to make room for the one's she had finished in her work room. It was only a matter of time before she would need to start using charms to enlarge the space again. One would think that with how many wands went out there would be enough room, but she was always making new ones and she was always finding one's that her family had created through the years tucked in the most random of places.
As she was forcefully shoving a dust mite away from her face she heard the familiar chime of her door go off. Rowena smiled softly to herself, momentarily forgetting that she was in a battle with a dust mite. Which gave it just enough advantage to blow up in her face. Rowena sputtered in surprise, batting at the dust in irritation. "Just you wait," she grumbled as she tried to place her foot on the ladder without tripping. She had enough falls over the years to last herself a lifetime.
"Just a minute!" she called out louder so the customer would hear her. Rowena twisted around and slipped down the ladder with only a slight shake in her step before she started for the front of the shop. She returned the woman's soft smile with one of her own as she moved behind the counter. "Hello, welcome to Ollivanders," she replied brightly before glancing down at the piece of parchment. After reading over the information twice she leaned back to study the woman. "Is this your second wand?" she asked curiously as she mentally judged what she should look for. |

| The owner of the shop was an attractive, dark-haired woman with a sweet smile. Jacquelyn leaned casually against the counter while Rowena read over her paperwork. "Is this your second wand?" the woman asked, leaning back to study Jax. Pushing her curls over her shoulder, she nodded, looking sheepish. "Yes," Jacquelyn confirmed. "I'm afraid I was ridiculously careless with it the other night."
"It's rather sad, to be honest... I've had that wand my whole life," the blonde said, drumming her fingers on the counter top thoughtfully. "But I'd never consider going anywhere else, so here I am." |

| Rowena noticed the woman's sheepish smile and was quick to reply. "I wouldn't feel too bad about that. Accidents happen quite frequently, but sometimes it's just a wands time," it was a sad thought as most witches and wizards liked to have the same one throughout their life, but sometimes that wasn't the case. She herself had lost her wand shortly after graduating Hogwarts. An accident with a potion had rendered it absolutely useless. "I was pretty careless with my own wand not that long ago.." she trailed off with a solemn smile.
"It's always nice to have just loyal Ollivander wand users," Rowena stated as her face lit up excitedly. "An I'm sure we can find something durable enough with a good connection. I'll go grab a couple wands for you to try out if you'll excuse me for just a moment," her eyes danced as she went to grab two wands, one a personal favorite of hers as she had been there to watch her father make it from start to finish.
Once both wand boxes were in hand she headed back to the front of the shop and set both boxes on the counter. "This wand," she placed her hand on the box to her left, "was created forty years ago by my grandmother and this one was made by my father almost twenty years ago. A little older, but I assure you that they're very good quality. Why don't you get them a whirl and see if either will suit you or not?" she asked with an expectant look on her face. |

| "I wouldn't feel too bad about that. Accidents happen quite frequently, but sometimes it's just a wands time," Rowena said, reassuringly. Jacquelyn nodded and smiled sadly. "I suppose, but it's still sad," the blonde reasoned. When the shopkeeper made mention that she had been careless with her wand as well, Jax raised an eyebrow in inquiry. "Oh?" she prompted.
The brunette exuded so much energy as her face lit up and bustled off to fetch some wands that Jax allowed herself a small chuckle; Precious, that one is, she thought to herself as she waited patiently for Rowena to return. It only took a minute or so before two wands were placed in front of her; both of them were lovely and obviously crafted with mad skill.
Jacquelyn drummed her nails on the counter top one last time before allowing her hand to hover one of the boxes; the wand made by the late Mr. Ollivander was cool to the touch, but when she picked it up to cast a simple Hovering Charm on her purse, the wand wouldn't have it. "Hmmm," she mused, pursing her lips and placing the wand back in its box. "I can't tell if it didn't work because the wand didn't like me or if my purse was too heavy."
Gingerly picking up the second wand, which was much older, but beautiful and no doubt powerful, Jax decided to abandon the idea of levitating the purse, but to merely change its color. As the incantation left her lips, not only did the color of her bag change once, but it changed numerous times in a matter of seconds! Laughing, she nodded and said, "This is the one! Oh my, this is one powerful wand!" |

| "Of course, you wouldn't have bonded so well if you hadn't connected.." she murmured softly when she realized that Jacquelyn was feeling quite down about her wand. Not that Rowena could blame her as she had felt similarly with the passing of her own first wand. She couldn't help but wince at the memory when the woman's brow rose curiously. "Yes, it was while I was spending time with my father during the summer. Obviously I couldn't do magic, but I was so curious about they worked and my father was always creating these amazing wands for other's to use. So I got this ridiculous idea that in order to truly learn I had to carefully study it. Let's just say I wasn't as good at handling wands with the care necessary when testing it that I do now.." she trailed off with a sheepish smile. Rowena could still see the situation in her mind's eye as if it had only just happened. She had peeked over her arm to make sure her father was thoroughly distracted, not that it really took much when wands were what he was focused on, and she had went to her father's private table. One he never allowed her near without his presence there so he could immediately take over. She had remember the confidence she had exuded as she set the wand on her father's funny contraption and she had tightened the holder so keep everything in place. An everything had been going smoothly until her father had yelled her name, angry that she had disobeyed him and upon startling her elbow and slammed down in surprise the the wood snapped awkwardly, dangling precariously by the stringy core. That was the first time her father had ever banned in from his shop for a week and she had been absolutely devastated. After her short walk down memory lane with Jacquelyn she smiled excited at the prospect of finding a wand for her and was off in search of the two in mind without any hesitation. It was always fun to see how well she was getting at choosing wands that would suit a person. She wasn't always right, but she had yet to be completely off her mark. Though she didn't want to jinx herself and the childish game she had remembered caused her to absently tap her fist against the wood of one of the one shelves. She blinked in surprise as she realized what she had done before grabbing the boxes and headed back to Jacquelyn Sinclair. As the woman's hands began to hover over the wand that her father had created she wondered if she should feel sad if it were to bond with Jacquelyn Sinclair. She would never see it again and she had always enjoyed looking at it as she knew the exact process it had taken to create, but she didn't feel any pang of sadness or fear of loss. She knew she would feel pride though, proud that another one of her families wand were being used and cherished. Though it hadn't made a single difference as the wand seemed to reject the woman's hand as her magic, in turn, rejected it. An as the second one, by her grandmother, was lifted she watched the difference between both reactions. It was instantaneous as the purse began to whirl between colors within seconds. Rowena clapped with a bright smile, "I would have to agree with you. A powerful wand for a powerful witch." Then without further ado she began to get everything wrapped up, pulling out a piece of parchment and writing the wand type in her loopy script before attaching it to the box with a sticking charm. "Five galleons will to removed from your vault, this is your wand type as well as a verification slip to act as your receipt. Was there anything else I could do for you today, Ms. Sinclair?" she asked politely once she set everything before the blonde woman. Jacquelyn Sinclair's wand is: Reed Wood, 11 1/4 inches, Single hair from a male unicorn |

| As Rowena explained her story, Jacquelyn couldn't help but smile at the idea of the woman being so curious and excited to learn such a wonderful craft such as wand making. "Making mistakes is a natural part of learning," she said sagely, hoping the sheepishness would fade from the brunette's face. "There's no shame in that."
The sound of gentle applause made Jax smile, but the compliment from Rowena Ollivander made her smirk. "At least power recognizes and is drawn to one another," Jax said vaguely. "It truly is a beautiful wand..." There was a flurry of movement as Rowena began to wrap everything up to send Jacquelyn on her way; after she was informed that the money would be removed from her vault, Jax waved a dismissive hand. "No, thank you," she said with a smile, taking her purchase in hand and striding towards the door. "I think I'll be quite alright now. Good day to you, Miss Ollivander." With that, Jacquelyn left the shop to return home. |
